What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first visit at Stiso Chiropractic, Acupuncture & Massage Therapy is designed to be thorough, informative, and completely focused on you. Here is what to expect from start to finish.
When You Arrive
You will be greeted by name. We review our schedule before the day begins so no one walks through the door as a stranger.
Our front desk team will get you checked in quickly and make sure any wait time is minimal.
Your Consultation
Dr. Stiso or one of our providers will begin with a thorough consultation to understand your health history, your current symptoms, and what you are hoping to achieve. This is not a rushed five minute intake.
We take the time to ask the right questions and actually listen to the answers because understanding the full picture is the only way to put together a treatment plan that works.
Your Examination
Following the consultation your provider will perform a comprehensive physical examination appropriate to your condition and the service you are being seen for.
This may include postural assessment, range of motion testing, orthopedic and neurological testing, and evaluation of the specific areas of concern.
Your Treatment Plan
Once the evaluation is complete your provider will walk you through their findings in plain language and explain exactly what they recommend and why.
No jargon, no pressure, just a clear and honest conversation about what is going on and how we can help. If we are not the right fit for your situation we will tell you and point you in a better direction.
Your First Treatment
In most cases treatment begins on the first visit. You will leave with a clear understanding of your condition, your treatment plan, and what to expect going forward.

You are not alone. One of the most common reasons people put off seeing a chiropractor is uncertainty about what adjustments will be like. That's a real concern and we take it seriously. Here is what we want you to know.
Nothing will be done without your consent:
Before any treatment begins Dr. Stiso will explain exactly what he is recommending and why. If something does not feel right or you are not comfortable with a particular technique, say so. Your comfort level is part of the clinical decision.
You have gentler options:
Dr. Stiso is proficient in multiple chiropractic techniques and does not apply the same approach to every patient. For patients who prefer a gentler experience, the Activator Method uses a small handheld instrument to deliver a precise, low force adjustment with no manual twisting or cracking. Drop table technique offers another comfortable alternative for patients who want effective spinal care without traditional manipulation.

We also accept personal injury and workers compensation cases and are experienced in New Jersey PIP laws.
