At Stiso Chiropractic, Acupuncture & Massage Therapy in Manasquan, NJ we have been serving patients in Wall Township, Manasquan, and the surrounding Monmouth County communities since 2007, carrying forward a family tradition of chiropractic excellence that stretches back more than six decades.
A Family Legacy That Started on a Football Field
The Stiso chiropractic story begins in 1959 when a high school football injury changed the course of one family's history. Dr. Frank A. Stiso was injured during a game and told by his family doctor he would be out for the rest of the season. Unwilling to accept that, his father took him to see a local chiropractor in Linden, NJ. Within days he was back on the playing field.
That experience stayed with him. Dr. Frank A. Stiso went on to attend the Chiropractic Institute of New York and founded the Colonia Chiropractic Center in Colonia, NJ. Over the years chiropractic became a true family profession. His uncle, brother-in-law, two sisters, and cousin all followed the same path. Dr. Frank R. Stiso is the seventh chiropractor in the Stiso family, carrying forward a legacy that now spans more than six decades.
Dr. Frank R. Stiso grew up watching his father help patients who had been told there was nothing more that could be done. He saw firsthand what chiropractic care could accomplish when delivered with skill and genuine compassion. And when his own life was turned upside down by a devastating accident at age 21, he understood the other side of the table too.
In 1995, while stopped at a traffic light in a Ford Mustang convertible, Dr. Stiso's vehicle was violently struck from behind by a raised Ford Bronco. The impact was so severe that the Bronco's oversized tires climbed onto the convertible. A second vehicle then collided into the Bronco, pushing it into Dr. Stiso's car again and sending him through a busy intersection. Physicians initially believed he had fractured his C2 vertebra.
A neurosurgeon informed him that lower back surgery and spinal fusion would be unavoidable. His father began treating him with chiropractic care instead. More than 30 years later Dr. Stiso has still never had spinal surgery.
In 2007 Dr. Stiso opened his own practice in his hometown of Manasquan. As the practice grew to include acupuncture, massage therapy, and BrainCore neurofeedback, he outgrew his original space and in 2014 purchased a medical condo in a brand new office complex where the practice has been located ever since.

Dr. Frank R. Stiso has been named among NJ Top Docs by New Jersey's Total Healthcare Resource, a recognition reserved for providers who demonstrate exceptional patient care and clinical excellence. He has also been voted one of the Best in Monmouth and Middlesex counties by readers of the Asbury Park Press.
In a particularly meaningful moment, the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors honored Dr. Frank A. Stiso with the Chiropractic Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions in New Jersey chiropractic.
The award was presented by his son, Dr. Frank R. Stiso, who was simultaneously named NJ Top Doc. It was a moment that said everything about what the Stiso name means to chiropractic in New Jersey.
Our Practice Philosophy
We are not a high volume clinic. We do not rush patients through adjustments and move on to the next one. What patients consistently tell us they love about this practice is that it does not feel like a mill. They know us, and we know them.
We look at our schedule before the day begins so that every returning patient is greeted by name when they walk in the door. Dr. Stiso stays with patients during therapy rather than leaving them alone in a room.
He asks questions, listens to the answers, and takes the time to understand what is going on in a patient's life beyond their chief complaint. His father always called it finding the common bond, and it is something that has been part of this practice from the beginning.
At the same time we maintain the professionalism and clinical standards of a serious healthcare practice. This is a doctor's office, not a wellness retreat. Our providers are knowledgeable, our environment is clean and professional, and every patient is treated with the level of care and respect they deserve.
About Dr. Frank R. Stiso
Dr. Stiso graduated from Seton Hall University in 1995 before relocating to Georgia to pursue his chiropractic education at Life Chiropractic College, graduating in December 1999.
He is proficient in a wide range of chiropractic techniques including Diversified, Activator, Thompson Drop, SOT, and HIO, and incorporates adjunctive physiotherapies including spinal decompression, flexion-distraction therapy, electrical stimulation, and cold laser therapy into patient care.
Additional credentials and certifications include Certified MicroLight 830 Cold Laser Practitioner, Board Certified Neurofeedback Therapist, Certified in Spinal MRI Interpretation, Certified in the Webster In-Utero Constraint Technique for prenatal chiropractic care, and trained in chiropractic pediatrics.
Dr. Stiso is licensed to practice chiropractic in both New Jersey and Florida and is an active member of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors and the Florida Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Stiso has lived with multiple lumbar disc herniations since his 1995 accident, giving him a firsthand understanding of chronic pain and spinal injury that most providers simply cannot offer.
About Jang Hwan Jeon, LAc, PhD
Dr. Jeon is a Doctor of Eastern Medicine and licensed acupuncturist with over a decade of clinical experience and one of the most impressive academic backgrounds in his field.
Originally from Seoul, Korea, Dr. Jeon came to the United States in 1988 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hofstra University. He went on to study at the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine and the New York College of Health Professions, where he received herbal medical training and a Master of Science in Eastern Medicine. Driven to deepen his expertise, he then traveled to China to earn his PhD in Medicine from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in Harbin, training with masters in the United States, Korea, and China.
Eastern medicine is not just a profession for Dr. Jeon. It is a family tradition that spans centuries. His ancestor, Sunue Jeon, served as a physician to three kings in 16th century Korea and wrote foundational texts on food as medicine and its applications. That generational commitment to natural healing informs everything about the way Dr. Jeon practices today.
Fertility acupuncture is a particular focus of Dr. Jeon's practice. He works extensively with women who are undergoing IVF and IUI, providing acupuncture support throughout the process to help optimize outcomes and manage the physical and emotional demands of fertility treatment. In addition to his work at Stiso Chiropractic, Acupuncture & Massage Therapy, Dr. Jeon also practices at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, one of the most respected fertility centers in the region. His work alongside RMA's reproductive specialists gives him a level of clinical insight into fertility treatment that few acupuncturists can offer.
Dr. Jeon is licensed in both New York and New Jersey and serves as an adviser for ESTMA, the East Asian Traditional Medical Association. He works with patients across a broad range of conditions from chronic pain and stress to reproductive health and hormonal balance.
About Christina Kim Sakumoto, LAc
Christina is a licensed acupuncturist with extensive clinical experience in both Korean and Japanese style acupuncture techniques. She trained under Lee Byungkook, a master of Korean style acupuncture, in South Korea, and studied under Kiiko Matsumoto, an internationally recognized master of Japanese style acupuncture.
Her clinical expertise covers a wide range of conditions including pain management, high blood pressure, allergies, insomnia, gynecological concerns, and smoking and alcohol cessation.
Christina graduated from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Korean Literature and Language from Dankook University in South Korea, where she also studied Library Science at Sungkyunkwan University.
She brings warmth, deep technical skill, and a genuine commitment to patient care to every session.
